What I write comes from my work experience and I do not go by hearsay. What I write I write because I read many guys who ask if you earn well, if it works well, and the answers are not complete. So I’ll try to do a little bit of clarity on the topic for those who want information on-the-job, both for those who want to understand what happens behind the phone call that you receive in the moments less appropriate with the only purpose to sell you something.

How many types of Call Centers are there?

The types are two: inboud and outbound.
The operator of inbound is the one that responds to incoming calls. When you call your telephone operator because you are in need of assistance, to respond to it is an operator, inbound.
The operator outbound, then, is the one that needs to make phone calls to try to sell a product.

And how are they handled calls in a Call Center?

There are offices where you work in the old way. A software in the computer tells you the next number from the call (taken of course from a list of numbers), a button will call. Point. But this system is slow and outdated, and also provides a huge problem: Not all the calls are answered, a lot of people are out of the house, and then attempts to call to these numbers are not a waste of time for those who are willing to sell.

So many offices have been modernized by purchasing of automated systems extraordinary. In practice, there is a central switchboard to which are connected a number of operators, and on the basis of the operators connected in that moment a specific number of phone calls to the list of preset numbers. As soon as someone replies, the pbx passes the call to the first free operator at that time, and at that point you need to just talk. In this way there is no more loss of time. The reason why sometimes you answer the phone, and on the other hand there is nobody is this: a pbx has called, but at the time of your response no operator was free, and then you feel dumb.

I’ve said that I’m not interested, but they continue to call?

The pbx tries to call a fixed number in different time slots, until someone responds. If the answer is told the owner is not home or Not interested, the operator, the other will postpone the call until the next day, or on the weekend, and the switchboard will store it and then recall it automatically. And this is the reason why there are those who will not free ever: the operator closes the call as the user is not interested, but how to call you tomorrow at… .
