Let’s see how to make our Mac’s webcam work on Ubuntu
The first problem I encountered installing Ubuntu on the MacBook is the iSight not workingSo let’s see how to make it work.
Among the necessary configurations to do, the installation of the webcam on the MacBook is a step that all those who have decided to follow my path are obliged to followBut the operation is really very simple.
We operate
- Download the AppleUSBVideoSupport (adv), extract the file from the zip archive and place it on the Desktop
- Open Terminal and use the following commands in order
sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install isight-firmware-tools
- During the installation a window will open where you will enter the location of the AppleUSBVideoSupport
home/[vostro_nome_utente]/Scrivania/AppleUSBVideoSupport
- Follow the remaining instructions
- Restart Ubuntu
In case you enter the position of the AppleUSBVideoSupport incorrectly, or in any case you need to redo the whole operation from scratch, use the commands
sudo apt-get purge isight-firmware-tools sudo apt-get install isight-firmware-tools
