How to create drawer launchers without too many complications
The launchers are the icons that we find in the (draw) menu that serve, once you click on one of them, to start the program associated with it. They are not always created during the installation of a new application, many times because they do not have them, forcing us to start them with a command from the terminal.
Furthermore, a launcher can be used to automatically start a procedure without having to go there every time to write the same commands over and over again, such as the apt-get upgrade procedure, for example.
We have already seen how to manually create a launcher on Ubuntu, but today we will see a graphic tool to be able to create our custom launchers to start programs and commands without special computer knowledge.
Arronax is a graphic tool compatible with various file managers for Linux that allows you to create launchers quickly and easily. It offers an advanced configuration to insert all the necessary attributes for the creation of a launcher.
How to install Arronax
To install it on Nautilus follow the following commands from the terminal
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:diesch/stable sudo apt update sudo apt install arronax arronax-nautilus
paying attention to the arronax-nautilus option, to be replaced with arronax-caja if we use Caja, and arronax-nemo if we use Nemo.
